In a letter to training providers dated January 26, 2024, CEO Thom Sicklesteel provided further details regarding the creation of CCO Education Services, LLC (CCO EDU).

CCO EDU was created as a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) in order to increase engagement with training providers. Under the previous structure of the organization, communication with training providers was largely prohibited. The creation of CCO EDU was also to recognize and promote high quality training providers through an accreditation process. Accredited Training Providers (ATP’s) will be required to meet 42 requirements in the Accredited Training Provider Standards.

CCO EDU will also be providing baseline training materials and resources to the industry. To this end, the training materials from Equipment Training Solutions (ETS) were purchased. Training providers may or may not utilize the ETS materials, or they may choose to supplement with their own materials.

The letter also includes Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) to assist with answering the questions that were being asked. The full letter is available at: https://ccoedu.org/wp-content/uploads/CCO-EDU-Announcement-final.pdf

“We are very excited about this opportunity to partner more closely with our training providers,” said Chief Executive Officer, Thom Sicklesteel.
